Media Operational Notice

The Northern Ireland Assembly Committee for Employment and Learning will host its own ‘Masterchef’ style event
with trainees from the Belfast based NOW organisation on Tuesday 29 November 2011. Trainees will prepare a four course meal, dress the tables and usher guests to the event. .

The event will be held in the Members’ Dining Room in Parliament Buildings and will begin at 4.45pm with the arrival of the nine trainees.

Dinner will be served to Committee members and invited guests, including celebrity chefs Danny Millar from Balloo House and the Great British Menu and Andy Rea from Mourne Seafood Bar and Cookery School. Local food critic John Ferris will compere the event.

The NOW organisation, which is based in North and West Belfast, works with adults with learning difficulties to prepare them for work and provides them with skills and support to help them live independent and productive lives.

Members of the media are welcome to attend and film. There will be interview opportunities with Basil McCrea MLA, Chair of the Employment and Learning Committee and celebrity chefs.
