The Assembly Committee for Employment and Learning will host an event, in conjunction with CollegesNI, on Monday 24 October 2011, when six of Northern Ireland’s Regional Colleges will showcase some of their most innovative training programmes.

The Committee will meet a number of young people, including fashion students and the best bricklayer in the world, view their work and learn more about their training experiences and the opportunities provided by local colleges. The Committee will also find out how the training provided helps to improve the local economy.

The event will take place in the Long Gallery in Parliament Buildings from 12pm – 3pm, with the fashion show taking place at 12.30 and 1.30. You are welcome to attend.

There will be opportunities to interview the Chairperson of the Committee, Basil McCrea MLA and speak with college representatives, stakeholders and participants, including Philip Green who received a gold medal for bricklaying at the WorldSkills London 2011 competition.
