Assembly Committee to be Briefed by Agriculture Minister

The Assembly Committee for Agriculture and Rural Development will receive a briefing from Minister Michelle O’Neill MLA during its meeting tomorrow (Tuesday 14 June).

The Committee is expecting to hear what the Minister’s priorities will be and how these will be funded, given the budget pressures. The Committee will explore with the Minister her plans for the Agri-Food industry, combatting animal disease the Common Agricultural and Fisheries Policies, Single Farm Payments and a range of Rural Issues, including the Rural Development Programme.

The meeting is open to the public and the media are also welcome to attend. The meeting will take place in room 30 at 1.30pm in Parliament Buildings on Tuesday 14 June. The Minister’s briefing will begin at approximately 2.00pm.
