What is the relevant committee?

The relevant committee is normally the Assembly committee established to scrutinise the work of the Northern Ireland Executive Minister responsible for the laying of the legislative consent memorandum.  For example, a legislative consent memorandum laid by the Northern Ireland Executive Minister for Infrastructure usually falls to the Assembly’s Committee for Infrastructure for consideration.  The Assembly, on a motion in plenary, can refer the legislative consent memorandum to another committee for consideration.

The relevant Assembly committee to which each legislative consent memorandum is referred is published on Assembly’s legislative consent webpages under the link to the relevant Westminster bill.  The Westminster bills on which legislative consent memorandums have been received are listed here.
