Aquaculture overview – UK and Ireland

Synopsis: This briefing paper provides an overview of the current scale and value of aquaculture within the UK and Ireland. Additionally, the paper includes details on strategies/policy interventions with a focus on growing aquaculture within the UK and Ireland. Within this latter context, the paper also briefly considers the Northern Ireland Food Strategy Framework and associated Action Plan in terms of specific reference to and provisions for aquaculture.
