Committee for Regional Development

The committee was established to advise and assist the Minister for Regional Development. It undertook a scrutiny, policy development and consultation role with respect to the Department for Regional Development and played a key role in the consideration and development of legislation.

The Committee for Regional Development held its final meeting on 16 March 2016. Following the reduction in the number of government departments in May 2016, a new Committee for Infrastructure will have responsibility in respect to the new Department for Infrastructure that will include the functions that were previously the responsibility of the Department for Regional Development, as well as a number of additional functions.
