Safeguarding Board for Northern Ireland

The proposed Safeguarding Board for Northern Ireland is to replace the four non-statutory Area Child Protection Committees which have recently been replaced by a regional child protection committee.

This measure is designed to ensure greater co-operation at the highest level within Government Departments, the Health and Personal Social Services, local government and in the voluntary and community sectors.
