2. Meeting with the Minister, Arts Council of Northern Ireland and Sport NI to discuss budgetary issues
The following representatives from the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure, the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and Sport NI joined the meeting:
Mr Edwin Poots (Minister of Culture, Arts and Leisure)
Mr Anthony Carlton (Director of Corporate Services)
Ms Roisin McDonough (Chief Executive of the Arts Council)
Mr Nick Harkness (Finance Manager of Sport NI)
The Minister and the representatives participated in a question and answer session on budgetary issues.
The meeting was suspended at 2.18 p.m.
The meeting reconvened at 2.54 p.m.
Mr Robinson left the meeting at 3.24 p.m.
Mr Shannon joined the meeting at 3.27 p.m.
Agreed – the Committee agreed to hold a further meeting with the Minister, the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and Sport NI to discuss budgetary issues in more detail and to include other matters of importance to the Committee.
3. Date and time of the next meeting.
The next meeting of the Committee for Culture, Arts and Leisure will take place on Thursday 1 May 2008 at 10.30 a.m. in Room 152.
The Deputy Chairperson adjourned the meeting at 4.09 p.m.
