The Chairman reminded members of their obligation to declare any relevant pecuniary or other interests before and during each Committee meeting.

2.Minutes of the Meeting of 14 September 2000

The Committee adopted the minutes of proceedings of the meeting of 14 September 2000.

At 10.00 a.m. the Committee moved into public session.

3.The following witnesses were called and examined:

Ms Elizabeth Filkin, Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards

Mr Mike Rumbles, Convener of the Scottish Parliament's Standards Committee

Mr D O'Connor joined the meeting at 10.35 a.m.

Mr K Mc Carthy left the meeting at 12.00 noon.

The Committee agreed to meet on Friday 6 October at 9.45 a.m. in Room 135, Parliament Buildings.
