In attendance for the public evidence session at 4.25pm: Mr M Stanley, Mr W Sprigge, Mr J Bonner, Mr P Heasman and Mr C Webb (Postcomm).

The meeting opened in public at 4.22pm.

In the absence of the Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson the Committee Clerk assumed the Chair   

1. Appointment of Acting Chairperson    

1.1. The Committee Clerk called for nominations to fill the role of acting Chairperson. Mr McClarty proposed and Mrs Courtney seconded the nomination of Dr McDonnell. No other nomination was received.

Agreed - that Dr McDonnell take the chair.

Dr McDonnell took the chair at 4.25pm.

2. Meeting with Postcomm    

Mr Wells joined the meeting 4.29pm.     Mrs Courtney left the meeting at 4.31pm.    

2.1. Representatives from Postcomm briefed the Committee on their plans for increased competition in the delivery of mail services and answered questions posed by the Committee.

3. Date of next meeting    

3.1. The next meeting of the Committee will be held on Tuesday 23 April at 10.30am in Room 152, Parliament Buildings.

The meeting closed at 5.16pm.
