Government Procurement Cards 2011-12
All procurement cards used by the Northern Ireland Assembly are held under the Government Procurement Card (GPC) scheme. The current contract is held by Barclaycard and is administered in Northern Ireland by the Department of Finance & Personnel (DFP).
At present there are 20 active cards in use by the Northern Ireland Assembly.
The current contract began in December 2010 and runs until December 2013 with an option to extend until December 2015.
The contract has a break clause which permits the contracting authority (Cabinet Office’s Government Procurement Services) to terminate the contract at any time by giving three month’s written notice to the service provider (Barclaycard).
The total spend on GPC by the Assembly during the 2011/12 Financial Year was £369,710.81
Expenditure on GPC in 2012/13 was not expected to differ significantly from that in 2011/12. If you require confirmation of this expenditure, please forward your request to foi@niassembly.gov.uk
The Assembly only has purchasing cards held through the GPC scheme and provided by Barclaycard.

The breakdown of expenditure between travel, subsistence and all other costs for the 2011/12 Financial Year is detailed below. Within “Other Amounts” are purchases made online using GPC cards in order to avail of discounted rates. The majority of these purchases relate to supplies of stationery and IT consumables to meet the needs of the Assembly as a whole.
