The Northern Ireland Assembly uses media monitoring tools/services because it is important that the Assembly provides the public with timely, accurate, clear and complete information on its work as it debates and makes laws and scrutinises the work of Government departments.
Communicating with the public through the media is one of the vehicles used to achieve this and a media monitoring service enables the Assembly to judge the effectiveness of its communications and assess the public's view and reaction to the way that the Assembly carries out its responsibilities.
