(b)  The amount of unused food (food waste) disposed of, a monthly breakdown of the weight of all the food thrown away.

Prior to August 2010, the majority of the Assembly's commercially produced food waste was disposed of via a waste disposal unit therefore no breakdown of the weight of all the food thrown away is available for this period.

As of Monday 23 August 2010, commercially produced food waste has been recycled. The table below provides a breakdown of the weight of all the food thrown away (in Kg).

(c)  Monthly breakdown of the weight and cost of rubbish thrown away

As of Monday 23 August 2010, commercial waste has been recycled. The table below provides a breakdown of the weight of all waste not recycled including food waste (in Kg). 

The provision of waste contractor services is managed through a central pan government framework process which encompasses Parliament Buildings and the wider Stormont Estate.

Although the current waste management contractor is not commissioned to recycle food waste it is however committed to do so therefore the respective food waste figures could be deducted from the table below.
