Attached at Appendix C is a summary of the second mandate legislation statistics. This includes figures for the total number of amendments tabled and made.
To get a sense of the relationship between Committees and Ministers and the influence of Committees, you may wish to consider selecting a few bills and look at the Committee Report(Executive summary and clause-by-clause pages may suffice) and then look at the related annotated Marshalled Lists.
The Wildlife and Natural Environment Bill was very interesting.Many challenging issues were discussed including the use of snares and hare-coursing.
The Sunbeds Bill was an example of where there was a modest number of amendments but all were tabled by the Minister and agreed with the Committee.
