Draft Audit of Inequalities Report and Action Plan 2026-2031

Northern Ireland Assembly Commission

Consultation

The draft Audit of Inequalities Report and Action Plan for the period 2026-2031 sets out how we will continue to meet our statutory duties under Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998, contributing to equality of opportunity and the promotion of good relations. Section 75 requires public authorities to have due regard to the need to promote equality of opportunity across nine categories, including age, gender, disability, race, and political opinion. It also requires regard to the desirability of promoting good relations between people of different religious belief, political opinion, and racial group.

The Audit of Inequalities Report provides a strategic overview of the inequalities relevant to the Assembly Commission’s functions and identifies areas for action. The Audit of Inequalities Action Plan 2026-2031 sets out practical measures to address inequalities.

The Assembly Commission would like to hear your views on its draft Audit of Inequalities Report and Action Plan for the period 2026-2031.

Your feedback will help us to reflect the needs and priorities of those affected by our work.
