Privacy Notice - Exhibition on Women Parliamentarians in Northern Ireland

1. Why are you processing my personal information?  

For the purpose of this exhibition, the Northern Ireland Assembly Commission is displaying information about some of the women who have served in the parliamentary institutions of Northern Ireland, including the offices they held, their date of election and some other achievements in the public sphere. The exhibition will be displayed in the form of a series of panels in the Great Hall of Parliament Buildings, and also as an online exhibition made available through the Assembly website.

 

2. What is the lawful basis for processing my personal information?

Data will be processed using the consent of the data subject.

 

3. Where do you get my personal data from?

The personal data was gathered from publicly available source material including the Assembly Information Management System, journal articles, books and election pamphlets. Photographs of the data subjects were obtained from the Assembly Commission, commercial image providers such as Alamy and the Belfast Telegraph, or libraries and archives such as the Linenhall Library and National Museums Northern Ireland.

 

4. What categories of personal data are you processing?

Name; Political Opinion.

 

5. Do you share my personal data with anyone else?

Personal data will be held securely by Assembly Commission staff solely for the purpose of the Women Parliamentarians of Northern Ireland exhibition.

 

6. Do you transfer my personal data to other countries?

This data will not be transferred to other countries.

 

7. How long do you keep my personal data?

We will retain your data for a period of 3 years.


8. What rights do I have?

  • You have the right to obtain confirmation that your data is being processed, and access to your personal data
  • You are entitled to have personal data rectified if it is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • You have a right to have personal data erased and to prevent processing, in specific circumstances.
  • You have the right to ‘block’ or suppress processing of personal data, in specific circumstances.
  • You have the right to data portability, in specific circumstances.
  • You have the right to object to the processing, in specific circumstances.
  • You have rights in relation to automated decision making and profiling.
