Speaker McLaughlin recognises role of Royal British Legion

Mitchel McLaughlin MLA, Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly, tonight held a reception in Parliament Buildings for the Royal British Legion. The reception was attended by around 150 members of the Legion and MLAs.

Committee Stresses Need for Sustainable Drainage to Stop Flooding

The Assembly Committee for Regional Development visited three sites today to see, at first-hand, a number of projects aimed at alleviating flooding. The sites, developed by Transport NI and NI Water, were at College Park Avenue in Belfast; Green Road, Conlig; and Carrowreagh in Dundonald.

Committee Bill set to ease complaints process against public bodies

The Public Services Ombudsman Bill will strengthen people’s right of redress, where maladministration by public bodies causes injustice. The Bill, introduced by the Committee for the Office of the First Minister and deputy First Minister (OFMDFM), passed its Final Stage during yesterday’s (Wednesday) Plenary debate.
