Assembly Community Connect Calls on North Belfast Community Groups to 'Get Involved'

Session: 2014/2015

Date: 12 November 2014

Reference: ACC 01/14/15

The Northern Ireland Assembly will host a ‘Get Involved’ event in North Belfast on Friday 28 November. The free event is part of the Assembly Community Connect (ACC) initiative which aims to help local community and voluntary sector groups work more effectively with the Assembly and its Committees.

A ‘Speed Networking’ session will give community groups and individuals the great opportunity to speak directly to local MLAs about their issues and concerns. The event will also include training workshops, presentations on the work of the Assembly as well as advice on how groups can give evidence to Assembly Committees and contribute effectively to Committee inquiries.

Chairperson of the Northern Ireland Assembly Community Connect Advisory Group, Maeve McLaughlin MLA said: “I am delighted that the Assembly is taking its ACC Initiative to North Belfast. The Assembly values the opportunity to meet with individuals, groups and organisations in order to learn more about the individual needs of all our local communities.”
