Committee to Raise Network Issues With O2

The Committee for Enterprise, Trade and Investment has agreed that it will write to leading mobile phone provider O2 to seek reassurance that network problems affecting thousands of customers over the bank holiday weekend will not be repeated.

Committee Review to Focus on Better Regulation for Farmers

The Committee for Agriculture and Rural Development has launched an Inquiry into ‘Better Regulation’. The Committee will examine the current regulatory framework within the agricultural industry and seek ways to reduce the administrative and regulatory burden on farmers.

Committee highlights crime against local businesses

The Northern Ireland Assembly Committee for Justice today held a stakeholder meeting involving a number of business organisations and the PSNI to discuss business crime and its effects on local businesses in Northern Ireland.

Committee calls for radical overhaul of Courts Funds Service

The Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee has today called for the urgent overhaul of the Courts Fund Office (CFO). In its report Managing and Protecting Funds Held in Court, published today, the Committee has criticised the CFO for operating what it terms ‘an archaic service’.

Robin Swann MLA Elected as Chairperson of the NI Assembly Branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association

The Northern Ireland Assembly has today announced that Mr Robin Swann MLA has been elected to the newly created post of Chairperson of the NI Assembly Branch of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA).
