Assembly Commission Appoints Contractor To Repair The Roof Of Parliament Buildings

Synopsis: The Assembly Commission has announced that it has appointed a contractor to carry out major repairs to the roof of the historic Parliament Buildings.

The Assembly Commission has today announced that it has appointed a contractor to carry out major repairs to the roof of the historic Parliament Buildings.

Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly, Mr William Hay, MLA said: “I am pleased to announce the appointment of Tracey Brothers to undertake major repair and refurbishment works to the roof of Parliament Buildings. The building is an important part of our heritage and we are confident that this project will protect and enhance the listed status of the building for many years to come and will significantly improve our carbon footprint.”

The contractor, based locally in Enniskillen, has many years’ experience of working in high profile public buildings.  John Tracey, Director of Tracey Brothers said: “We are delighted to have been awarded the contract for the repair of Parliament Buildings roof and look forward to working in partnership with Hamilton Architects and the Assembly Commission on this magnificent building.”

Work is due to begin in mid-April for a period of 12 months.
