The Assembly Health Committee has welcomed the Health Minister, Edwin Poots MLA's statement at their meeting on the future of paediatric cardiac services, presently delivered at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children.
Chairperson of the Committee, Sue Ramsey MLA said: "The Committee received a full briefing from the Minister on proposed options for the delivery of paediatric cardiac services, following a Departmental consultation.
"I welcome the fact that the Minister is actively looking for an option which includes the continuing role of Belfast in the provision of this service. The Minister clearly recognises that the views of local parents must be taken into account when making any final decisions on the way in which paediatric cardiac services are provided."
