Supermarkets Respond to Committee Concerns on Polish Beef Imports
Response from Iceland
16 April 2020
Dear Mr McAleer
Thank you for your Committee’s letter to us of 14 April. We are happy to confirm that Iceland continues to source all its fresh beef from Dunbia in Northern Ireland, and that our long-standing commitment to domestic producers will remain unchanged through the current crisis.
Unlike certain other supermarkets we have not purchased any fresh Polish beef, nor do we have any intention of doing so.
We are working closely with the industry to try and create a route to market for those cuts of beef for which demand has been impacted by the closure of pubs and restaurants.
Best wishes
Keith
