Review of the Business Week of the Northern Ireland Assembly - Terms of Reference

The Review will:

• Set out the current organisation of the business week of the Northern Ireland Assembly;

• Identify the key strengths and constraining factors of current arrangements;

• Examine models used in other legislatures for achieving balance between the competing pressures of the business week including plenary, committees and Members’ party and constituency commitments;

• Propose alternative models designed to meet the specific needs of the Assembly, taking into account any wider implications of proposals as well as any potential for increasing flexibility, effectiveness and family friendly considerations; and

• Make recommendations.
