3. Evidence session on proposals in relation to residential homes
The Committee took evidence from:
Mr Edwin Poots MLA, Minister for Health, Social Services & Public Safety
Dr Andrew McCormick, Permanent Secretary, Department for Health, Social Services & Public Safety
Mr John Compton, Chief Executive, Health and Social Care Board
Mr Sean Holland, Under Secretary, Social Services Policy Group.
A question and answer session ensued.
2.37 p.m. Mr Jim Wells joined the meeting.
4.00 p.m. Mr Gordon Dunne left the meeting.
The witnesses agreed to provide the Committee with additional information. The Chairperson thanked the witnesses for attending.
The Committee noted correspondence from the Commissioner for Older People seeking a meeting and agreed to invite the Commissioner to an informal meeting.
4. Any other Business.
The Committee agreed to write to the Department regarding possible funding arising from the cancellation of the A5 road project.
5. Date, time and place of next meeting.
The next Committee meeting will be on Wednesday 15th May 2013 at 2.00 pm in the Senate Chamber, Parliament Buildings.
The Chairperson adjourned the meeting at 4.04 p.m.
