Legal Complaints and Regulation Bill Committee Stage - Call for Evidence

The Legal Complaints and Regulation Bill was formally introduced to the Northern Ireland Assembly on Monday, 8 June 2015 and received its Second Reading on Tuesday, 16 June 2015. The Bill has been referred to the Committee for Finance and Personnel for Committee Stage.

The Bill will introduce a new statutory framework for handling complaints made against
solicitors and barristers and will, amongst other things, introduce strengthened oversight of that framework through the establishment of the Legal Services Oversight Commissioner.

Any organisation or individual with an interest in this Bill is invited to submit evidence to the Committee by email to:

The evidence must be structured to address the specific clauses of the Bill and, if
