River pollution in Northern Ireland: An overview of causes and monitoring systems, with examples of preventative measures

Synopsis: This paper examines the potential causes of river pollution, pollution monitoring systems in place in Northern Ireland, as well as some examples of preventative measures trialled both here and in other jurisdictions. It has been produced following a request by the Environment Committee to contribute to their preparations for a stakeholder event on River Pollution.
