Committee for Enterprise, Trade and Investment Meeting - 09 December 2014

The Committee for Enterprise, Trade and Investment met on Tuesday 9 December 2014 at 10:00am in the Senate Chamber, Parliament Buildings, when the Committee was briefed by Professor David Waugh, Queen's University Belfast on collaboration and cooperation in the Life and Health Sciences Sector.

The Committee was also briefed by Mr Stephen Cave and Mr John Compton of PricewaterhouseCoopers and Mr Sean Cavanagh of the Insolvency Technical Committee (ITC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland, as part of the Committee's consideration of the Insolvency (Amendment) Bill.

The Committee received and discussed written briefings from Department officials regarding: the January Monitoring Round; the update on the ERDF Growth and Jobs Programme 2014 – 2020; the Credit Unions and Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Bill; and the Programme for Government 2011/15 year 3 Quarter 2 Progress Report.

The Committee then considered consultations on: Rider Operated Lift Trucks ACOP – Proposed withdrawal of NI ACOP and approved or revised ACOP; the proposals for the replacement of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2007; and the implementation of Directive 2013/30/EU on the safety of offshore oil and gas operations and amending Directive 2004/35/EC and updating oil and gas legislation and Approved Codes of Practice.
