The meeting opened in public session at 11.24am.
Agreed: The Committee agreed to consider the draft Report on its Investigation into Gaps in Child Protection and Safeguarding across the Culture, Arts and Leisure remit as the last item of business.

2. Draft Minutes of the Meeting held on 06 June 2013
The Committee agreed the draft minutes of 06 June 2013.
3. Matters Arising
The Committee noted the correspondence tracker.
Agreed: The Committee agreed to write to the Committee for Health, Social Services and Public Safety to ascertain whether there has been an agreed action following the Replay Bliss event on 4th June 2013.
The Committee noted tabled correspondence from the Minister providing information on the work undertaken by Sport NI regarding teacher accreditation for coaching sports.
4. Briefing from DCAL, 2013 WPFG Ltd and Belfast Visitor and Convention Bureau on the progress of the Delivery of 2013 World Police and Fire Games
The following officials joined the meeting at 11.24am:
Head of 2013 Projects Team, DCAL, Ms Joanna McConway;
CEO, 2013 World Police and Fire Games Ltd, Mr John Tully; and
Director of Visitor Servicing, Belfast Visitor and Convention Bureau, Ms Mary Jo McCanny.
The officials briefed the Committee.
A question and answer session followed.
Mr Dominic Bradley left the meeting at 12noon.
Mr Dominic Bradley returned to the meeting at12.04pm.
Agreed: Officials agreed to provide to the Committee details of the local advertising campaign; an updated accommodation report; and the risk management assessment report.
Agreed: The DCAL official agreed to provide to the Committee a written briefing on the cultural programme before summer recess.
The officials left the meeting at 12.37pm.
Agreed: The Committee agreed to write to the Minister requesting details of the
cultural programme prior to publication.
5. Investigation into Gaps in Child Protection and Safeguarding across the Culture, Arts and Leisure Remit
Agreed: The Committee agreed to postpone its consideration of its draft Report on the
Investigation into Gaps in Child Protection across the Culture, Arts and
Leisure remit until Tuesday 25th June 2013.
6. RAISE Briefing on Preparations and Legacy Planning for the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014
The Committee noted the Research paper on Preparations and Legacy Planning for Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014.
Ms Rosaleen McCorley left the meeting at 12.38pm.
7. Correspondence
Agreed: The Committee agreed to schedule a briefing from Department officials and
Libraries NI on the review of the Delivering Tomorrow's Libraries strategy in the new session.
Agreed: The Committee agreed to schedule a briefing from Department officials on the review of Arm's Length Bodies in September.
Agreed: The Committee agreed to schedule a briefing from Voluntary Arts Ireland onto the Forward Work Programme.
Ms Rosaleen McCorley rejoined the meeting at 12.41pm.
Agreed: The Committee agreed to invite The Dollaghan Trust to the Committee's visit to Lough Neagh Eel Fishery for an informal briefing.
8. Chairperson's Business
The Committee noted the invitation tracker, including an invite from the Chairman and Board of the Ulster Youth Orchestra to a performance of the Orchestra on Saturday 24th August.
Agreed: The Committee agreed to write thank you letters to everyone who assisted
in the preparations for the co-ordinated Committee visit to Londonderry on
Wednesday 12th June 2013.
The Committee noted that the Chair delivered a speech at the All Ireland Arts Conference at the Millennium Forum; and that she attended the Ulster Media Show at North West Regional College on Wednesday 12th June 2013.
9. Forward Work Programme
Agreed: The Committee agreed the Forward Work Programme.
10. RAISE Briefing on Support for Elite Athletes in Northern Ireland and other Jurisdictions
The Committee noted the RAISE briefing on Support for the Elite Athletes in Northern Ireland and other Jurisdictions.

There was no other business.

The next meeting of the Committee for Culture, Arts and Leisure will take place on Thursday 13th June 2013 at Tollymore National Outdoor Centre.
