Synopsis: This Bill paper has been produced for the Assembly and Executive Reform (Assembly Opposition) Bill (Northern Ireland) 2015 (the Bill). The Bill seeks to make a number of changes to the way the Assembly undertakes business, primarily by providing for formally recognised Opposition. It also proposes changes to the formation and working of the Executive. This paper provides an overview of the Bill and provides commentary on key areas that emerged during Second Stage debate and subsequent Committee Stage
