Assembly and Executive Reform (Assembly Opposition) Bill - Committee Stage

The Assembly and Executive Reform (Assembly Opposition) Bill was introduced on 22nd September 2015. The Bill completed the Second Stage on Monday 12th October 2015. The Bill has been referred to the Assembly and Executive Review Committee which has responsibility for the Committee Stage of the Bill.

The principal objective of the Bill is to enable the formation of an Opposition in the Assembly and to confer rights on the Opposition once it has been formed. The Bill also seeks to enhance collective decision-making in the Executive, and to increase scrutiny of the Executive by the Legislature.

The call for evidence ended on the 10 November 2015.
