Private Session

1. Minutes of the meeting held on the 6 June.

The minutes of the meeting were agreed.

2. Forward Plan of Business

The Committee noted the revised Forward Plan of Business.

3. Homelessness Report

The Chairman reminded Members of the need to adhere to the Speaker's ruling that Committee Reports be debated in the Assembly in the first instance.

Members noted the indicative timing for the debate is from 2.00 until 4.30 on Tuesday 18 June and agreed that the Chairperson should open the debate and the Deputy Chairperson should close the debate.

The Committee agreed that embargoed copies of the Report be issued, by post, on Monday 17 June to those individuals and organisations who made written submissions or who gave oral evidence during the Inquiry.

Members agreed the terms of an associated draft Press Release, subject to amendment, for issue, under embargo, on Monday 17 June.

4. Any Other Business

Chartered Institute of Housing Conference and Exhibition, Harrogate

Sir John Gorman provided a summary of his attendance at the Chartered Institute of Housing Conference. He provided an extract from the First Minister's speech and copies of documentation relating to:

      1. DTLR Consultation Paper Tackling Anti-Social Tenants

      2. The Law Commission consultation: Renting Homes: Status and Security.

5. Date of Next Meeting

The next Committee meeting will be at 2.00 p.m. on Thursday 20 June in Room 144 Parliament Buildings.
