Back in 2011, we met with the Autism Consultation Group who suggested that we produce a video which would explain everything you need to know about accessing Parliament Buildings, so that you could prepare for your visit. This includes things like entering through the main gate, accessing the car park, going through security clearance, getting a pass and outlining the facilities within the building.

Throughout 2012, we worked with the Autism Consultation Group on the content and direction of the video. Their advice and assistance was fantastic and we were able to then produce and publish a short video, which many visitors with autism have since told us has been an invaluable resource for them over the years.

Since 2012, there have been some changes to the building and access requirements are also slightly different, so we’ve recently given the video a 2024 refresh and you can watch our updated version above. We hope you enjoy the video and find the information useful. As always we look forward to welcoming you to Parliament Buildings.
