Culture, Arts and Leisure 29 April 2014

Session: 2013/2014

Date: 29 April 2014

The Culture, Arts and Leisure Minister Ms Ni Chuilin answered questions on the legacy of UK City of Culture, the growth of cycling clubs and attracting major sporting events to Northern Ireland.

Culture Minister Caral ni Chuilin said the process of preparing a business case for a velodrome had begun and it was "very encouraging".

She said the case for a velodrome had been dismissed in the past due to lack of support for cycling "but my understanding is that has changed and the job of developing a business case lay with cycling's governing bodies”.

Museums, Portavoe Reservoir and Budgets 2013 were the main topics during Topical Questions to the Minister.
