Date: 21 June 2020

Reference: SO 12/19/20

Parliament Buildings will be lit purple tonight (Monday 22nd June 2020) to mark Children’s Hospice Week.

Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly, Alex Maskey MLA said, “The Children’s Hospice provides a vital range of services to many vulnerable children and their families. Despite the many challenges faced by the Hospice during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Hospice has continued to offer a high level of care and support to those in need.

“The services provided by the Children’s Hospice are admired and valued throughout the community. The Assembly Commission therefore agreed that it is important that the Assembly acknowledges and shows its appreciation of this work by lighting Parliament Buildings tonight to mark the start of Children’s Hospice Week.”

Children’s Hospice Week runs from 22nd to 28th June 2020.
