Parliament Buildings Lit Blue to Mark Birthday of NHS

Session: 2019/2020

Date: 03 July 2020

Reference: SO 13/19/20

Parliament Buildings will be lit blue on Sunday 5 July 2020 to mark the 72nd birthday of the National Health Service.

Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly, Alex Maskey MLA said, "The NHS is one of our most cherished institutions and all that work in it provide exceptional care at all times.

"During the COVID-19 pandemic, those who work in our health and social care system have not only provided dedicated service to our community, they have worked tirelessly under the most challenging conditions.

"The services provided by our health and social care workers are admired and valued throughout our community. The Assembly Commission therefore agreed that it is important that the Assembly acknowledges and shows its appreciation of the work of all in the NHS, particularly during recent times."
