Congressional delegation to visit Parliament Buildings

The Speaker of the Northern Ireland Assembly, Robin Newton MBE MLA will host a reception with guests of honour from the United States Congress on Friday, 19 April 2019.

The Congressional delegation will be attending a reception in the Long Gallery entitled ‘The Post Good Friday/Belfast Agreement Generation: the future potential of Northern Ireland’. Please note that the reception in the Long Gallery is private, however pool footage and photography will be made available. See technical information below for further details.  

The Great Hall will be unavailable before 9.30am, however there will be a photograph opportunity, from outside the curtilage, of the delegation as they arrive at the front entrance to Parliament Buildings at 9.00am. Please also be advised that the Long Gallery and the first floor corridors will be unavailable until 10.15am.

There will be a further media opportunity with the Congressional delegation, which will include a Q and A, at 9.55am in the Great Hall. Those wishing to attend should arrive at the East Door between 9.00am and no later than 9.30am. We would appreciate if media could bring their organisational or other media credentials (details of accepted accreditation can be found in the Assembly’s Media Handbook). A dedicated event pass will be issued.   

A dedicated media WIFI facility will also be provided; the password will be available to media upon arrival.

Technical information

Video and audio feeds of the visit will be available as a pool feed from the Assembly Broadcasting facility. The pool will be distributed live, as rushes. The pool will cover interior and external arrivals and the address in the Long Gallery.

The pool material will be available to the main Parliament Buildings media rooms and broadcast studios.

CIRCUIT 1 will carry all video/rushes in HD/SDI format.

Wall boxes will carry audio on Programme Audio

A HD Broadcast feed will also be supplied to the lawn broadcasting point.

A video feed will be available on the Assembly internal TV system Channel 1 and this feed will also be available within the media rooms. Feeds will be distributed clean.
