Education Committee to be briefed on Services for School Children with Visual Impairments

The Committee for Education will receive briefings from Departmental Officials and from Education and Library Board representatives on the provision of services for school children with visual impairments.

The Committee is following up on concerns raised by organisations working with the visually impaired in respect of poor early detection of vision problems in school children leading to educational attainment  problems and a reported lack of joined-up support for schools and affected families.
