Northern Ireland Assembly Calls on East Antrim to get Involved

The Northern Ireland Assembly will be at the Jubilee Hall, Town Hall, Carrickfergus on Friday (30 March 2012) to meet with locally based voluntary and community sector groups.
The event will provide an opportunity for groups from the East Antrim area to meet local MLAs and discuss how they can work together more effectively with the Assembly. The groups will also be given advice on how to get their message across to the Assembly and its Committees as well as practical tips on how to submit to and participate in Committee inquiries.
As well as workshops and information sessions, there will be a question and answer section with a panel of MLAs followed by a simulated committee meeting all aimed at providing a practical guide on how to work effectively with Assembly Committees.

Media Opportunities
Media are welcome to attend this event. There will be opportunities for interviews, photographs and filming with the Deputy Speaker and local East Antrim MLA Roy Beggs as well as participating local MLAs between 11am and 11.30am. Please note that all media requests must be by prior arrangement with the NI Assembly Communication Office.
