Committee to Hear From Director of Public Prosecutions

The NI Assembly Committee for Justice will meet in public session from 2.30pm on Thursday 22 March in Room 30, Parliament Buildings.

The Director of Public Prosecutions, Barra McGrory QC, will attend to discuss issues of public concern following the outcome of the case of R v Haddock and others, the use of the evidence of assisting offenders generally and how such cases will be approached by the Public Prosecution Service in the future.

The Committee will also receive briefings from departmental officials on proposed Mental Capacity legislation and the implications for the criminal justice system and on the draft Community Safety Strategy.
