This instrument amends provisions of European Union legislation relating to the EU Common Agricultural Policy (“CAP”) and the Common Organisation of Agricultural Markets, including in particular a number of legislative functions which are currently carried out by the European Commission. Under the amendments, these functions will instead be carried out by public authorities in the United Kingdom. This will enable these legislative functions to continue to be used at a national level after the UK leaves the EU.
