Special school funding

Synopsis: This Briefing Paper is prepared to support the Committee for Education’s consideration of special school funding. The evidence points to a trend towards delegating more responsibilities to schools for special educational needs (SEN) provision, in line with a wider trend towards giving schools greater autonomy in general.
