1. Apologies

2. Minutes of Proceedings of meeting held on 10 June 2008

Agreed: The Committee agreed the minutes of the meeting held on 10 June 2008.

3. Matters arising

Members noted that a reply from the Minister of the Environment in relation to a meeting to discuss proposals to legislate to end dual mandates was still outstanding.

4. Multiple Mandates – Party Position Papers

Members noted that all party position papers had now been received.

Agreed: Members agreed that copies of all papers should be sent to party leaders for consideration.

5. Efficiency Review Panel

2.41pm Mr Nelson McCausland joined the meeting.

Members noted recent correspondence between OFMDFM and the Committee. Members also noted that the letter from OFMDFM did not address the issue of the First Minister and Deputy First Minister appearing before the Committee in relation to the Efficiency Review Panel.

Agreed: Members agreed that the Chairman should write to the First Minister and deputy First Minister requesting a meeting.

6. Freedom of Information Procedures

Members noted correspondence from the Clerk to the Central Committee Office in relation to Freedom of Information procedures.

Agreed: Members agreed to delegate authority to the Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson of the Committee to submit, during periods of recess, views on the releasing or withholding of the information in any non-routine/contentious FoI requests received.

7. Any other business

None.

8. Date, time and place of next meeting

The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, 9 th September 2008 at 11.00am in Room 144, Parliament Buildings.

The Deputy Chairperson adjourned the meeting at 2.48pm.
