The Committee noted the correspondence issued since the meeting of 05 October 2010.

The Committee noted the correspondence received since the meeting of 05 October 2010.

Agreed : The Committee agreed that the Clerk should enquire as to why the Department has postponed its planned presentation on the Outcome of the Less Favoured Areas Review and when the presentation can now be expected.

4. Presentation : DARD - Pre - Consultation on Foyle Area (Oyster Traders Logbook and ID Tagging) Regulations 2011

The following witnesses joined the meeting:

Paul Moore - Grade 7 - Principal Officer.

Barry Fox, Director of Aquaculture, Loughs Agency.

Kieran McGonagle, Loughs Agency

The witnesses presented to Committee in respect of the above. Following the presentation, Members put questions.

Agreed: The Committee agreed that it was content that this matter should move to consultation stage, provided that the Department returns with a detailed analysis of consultation responses.

Agreed: The Committee agreed that the Clerk should seek further information from the Department on a number of issues.

5. Presentation : DARD: SL1 - Seed Potato Regulations (NI) 2010

The following officials joined the meeting:

The officials presented to Committee in respect of the above. Following the presentation, Members put questions

Agreed: Members agreed that the Seed Potato Regulations (NI) 2010

should progress to the next legislative stage.

6. Presentation :DARD – SL1 - The Fishing Boats (Electronic Transmission of Fishing Activities Data) Scheme (NI) 2010

(Amendment) Regulations (NI) 2011

Agreed: Members agreed that Animal and Animal Products (Import & Export) (Amendment) Regulations (NI) 2011 should progress to the next legislative stage.

8. SL1: Products of Animal Origin (Third Country Imports) (Amendment) Regulations (NI) 2011

Agreed: Members agreed that the Products of Animal Origin (Third Country Imports) (Amendment) Regulations (NI) 2011 should progress to the next legislative stage.

9. SR 339 / 2010 – The Welfare of Farmed Animals (Amendment) Regulations ( Northern Ireland) 2010

Agreed: That the Committee for Agriculture and Rural Development has

considered the Welfare of Farmed Animals (Amendment) Regulations ( Northern Ireland) 2010 and has no objection to the rule.

Agreed: The Committee agreed its Committee End of Session 09/10 Report.
