Minutes of Proceedings

The Committee met at 10.25am in private session.

1. Chairman's Introduction

The Chairman welcomed the members to the ninth meeting of the Standards and Privileges Committee and referred them to a paper setting out the functions of the Select Committee on Members' Interests, Dáil Éireann.

2. Declaration of Interests

The Chairman reminded members of their obligation to declare any relevant pecuniary or other interests before and during each committee meeting.

3. Minutes of proceedings of the meeting of 6 October 2000.

The Committee adopted the minutes of proceedings of the meeting of 6 October 2000. (Proposed: Dr D O'Hagan, Seconded Sir J Gorman)

The meeting moved into public session at 10.35am.

4.The following witnesses were called and examined:

Dr Adamson left the meeting at 10.55am.
Mr McCarthy joined the meeting at 11.03am.

The Chairman thanked the officials for their assistance.

5. Date and Time of Next Meeting

The Committee agreed to meet on Friday 24 November at 10.00am in Room 144, Parliament Buildings. The Clerk will circulate a paper on the issues to be discussed in advance of the meeting.

The meeting concluded at 11.27am.
