Minutes of Proceedings

The meeting opened, in public at 2:00pm.

1. Chairperson's business

1.1 Agreed - that the Committee's next inquiry 'Arts' will look at strengthening the link between culture and tourism integrating the inclusion of children and young people in the Arts.

1.2 Agreed - that members will confirm with the Committee Office by 21 December 2000 whether they are able to accept the invitation to 'Northern Odyssey' on 13 January 2001.

1.3 Agreed - that members will confirm to the Opera House whether they are able to accept the invitation to attend the production of 'Snow White' on 8 January 2001.

1.4 Agreed - that members would give careful consideration to the contents of the e-mail dated 19 December 2000 from Colm O Comartun of Boston College.

1.5 The Chairperson advised members that Lurgan Celtic Football Club have launched judicial proceedings against the Irish Football League over their non-admittance to the League and that therefore the Committee would not be in a position to call the Club before it until this action was finalised.

1.6 The Chairperson advised members to read the two Statutory Rules and Explanatory Memorandum in preparation for the next meeting.

2. Minutes of the last meeting

2.1 The minutes of the meetings of 7 and 11 November 2000 were agreed.

3. Date of next meeting

3.1 The next meeting of the Committee will take place on Thursday 11 January 2001 at 10:15am in Room 152.
