Recess Dates

Assembly business happens throughout the year, with periods of "recess" (breaks). During recess, there are normally no meetings in the Chamber and no committee meetings. MLAs are usually in their constituencies where they continue to work on your behalf. 

The Business Committee has agreed the following recess dates for 2026/27:

4 July 2026 to 30 August 2026

Halloween 2026

24 October 2026 to 1 November 2026

(Plenary Sitting - 2 November 2025)

Christmas 2026

12 December 2026 to 3 January 2027

(Business Committee – 5 January 2027)

(Plenary Sitting - 11 January 2027)

Easter 2027

20 March 2027 to Dissolution
