MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING ON THE GOVERNANCE AND ACCOUNTABILITY ARRANGEMENTS OF THE NORTHERN IRELAND AUDIT OFFICE

Members are reminded about the Memorandum of Understanding on the Governance and Accountability arrangements of the Northern Ireland Audit Office (NIAO).  The Memorandum sets out the understanding of, on the one hand, the NIAO, and on the other, the Audit Committee of the Northern Ireland Assembly, of the framework for the corporate governance and accountability of the NIAO.  The Memorandum is published on the Assembly’s website: http://www.niassembly.gov.uk/assembly-business/committees/audit/memorandum-of-understanding-on-the-governance-and-accountability-arrangements-of-the-northern-ireland-audit-office/

The Memorandum includes a commitment that the NIAO will provide written responses to questions from Members relating to the business of the NIAO within ten working days. Where this may not be possible due to the complexity of the issues raised, an interim holding response will be provided with details of the anticipated date of substantive reply.  The NIAO will deposit all substantive written responses to MLAs’ questions in the Assembly library.

PROPOSED ALL PARTY GROUP ON TACKLING EDUCATIONAL UNDERACHIEVEMENT AND PROMOTING EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE FOR ALL

A meeting has been arranged to take place on Tuesday 3 November at 12.30pm in room 315 to discuss the formation of an All-Party Group on Tackling Educational Underachievement and Promoting Educational Excellence for All and to elect office bearers to the proposed group.
