LITERARY LIFE OF LOCAL WRITERS EXHIBITION
The Speaker is hosting an evening reception to mark an exhibition, in association with the Linen Hall Library and currently on display in Parliament Buildings, which celebrates the literary life of local writers, on Monday 8 September 2014 from 6.30pm-8.00pm in the Great Hall.
The exhibition, entitled Bog Meadow and Surrounding Hills, is named after a Michael Longley couplet, and focuses on the men and women who have striven to live the writer’s life in Northern Ireland and those born here who took their typewriters and pens abroad. The exhibition also features many rare artefacts from the Linen Hall’s collection and embraces the many different aspects of writing, publishing and reading.

FILMING IN THE GREAT HALL - MONDAY 08 SEPTEMBER 2014
The Communications Office is updating and adding to the Assembly’s photographic and imagery collection.
On Monday 8 September, the Communications Office, in conjunction with Assembly Broadcasting, will be placing a camera on the balcony overlooking the Great Hall to film the area over the course of that day. The camera will remain locked in one position throughout the day and there will be no sound recorded.
The footage will be used to create a film to be used during the Heritage Open Day Events and will also be added to the Assembly's stock footage to be used to promote the work of the Assembly at a future date.
