The British Council misuse of substances ministerial meeting
The British-Irish Council Misuse of Drugs Ministerial meeting will be held on the 27th June 2014 in Dublin.
The following Ministers will be in attendance:
The Minister of Health, Social Services and Public Safety, Mr Edwin Poots MLA; and
OFMDFM Junior Minister, Ms Jennifer Mc Cann MLA.

10.20am: Agenda Item 2: Agree Minutes of last Ministerial Meeting (Jersey, June 2012)
10.25am Agenda Item 3: Thematic discussion on “Changing Trends in Drug Use – Current Patterns and Responses”.
Chairperson introduces the discussion paper and invites delegates to discuss the issues as set out in the paper covering:
- Cannabis
- New Psychoactive Substances
- Prescribed Medicines
11.50am Agenda Item 4: Alcohol Policy General Updates from Member Jurisdictions Round table discussion to include the following issues:
- Extent of the problem
- Opportunity for cross Administration co-operation
12.40pm Agenda Item 5: Proposals for Work Programme
Chairperson will seek outline proposals for the Work Programme for 2014.
