I am writing to confirm that the Northern Ireland Assembly Commission holds information relating to your request of 13th September 2020, in which you asked for the following information:

1. The total number of your workforce as a whole.

2. The total number of staff who have died FROM Covid 19 within your organisation

3. The total number of staff who have been admitted to hospital as a result of Covid 19

4. The total number of staff who have been properly diagnosed with Covid 19 not requiring hospitalisation

5. The total number of staff who have had to take time off work through isolation procedures not counting when the offices were actually closed.

 

Please find the full response from the Northern Ireland Assembly Commission attached in Appendix A.  Note the response to question 1 is correct as at 1st September 2020. The remaining responses, 2 – 5, are correct as at 14th September 2020.

 

You have the right to request a formal review by the Northern Ireland Assembly Commission and if you wish to do so, please write to me at the above address.

If after such an internal review you are still unhappy with the response, you have the right to appeal to the Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF who will undertake an independent review.

APPENDIX A

1. The total number of your workforce as a whole.

Total number of staff in post is 336.2 (Full Time Equivalents) This figure includes Assembly Commission staff, agency workers and inward secondees.

 

2. The total number of staff who have died from Covid 19 within your organisation.

None.

 

3. The total number of staff who have been admitted to hospital as a result of Covid 19.

None.

 

4. The total number of staff who have been properly diagnosed with Covid 19 not requiring hospitalisation

None.

 

5. The total number of staff who have had to take time off work through isolation procedures not counting when the offices were actually closed.

Staff have continued to work throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and Parliament Buildings, the Northern Ireland Assembly’s single site, has remained open. As at 14 September 2020, the total number of staff who have self-isolated is 120.
